The 2005 John Crawford Quilt Challenge
BATIK HEARTS 'n'
STARS!
Batik is an art practiced for generations in Java, and other nearby countries devestated by last December's tsunami. To honor our debt to the creativity of the people of that area, the first rule for this year's Crawford Challenge block is simple:

The fabrics you'll use for your block are all batiks.
(available for sale at The Pumpkin Patch, of course, but feel free to use any batiks.)

Also:

Your block will focus on a star, or stars;
on a heart, or hearts;
or include both.

It will be a "12-inch finished" block,
so it will measure 12.5 inches with seam allowances.

The blocks will be on display in the store until the quilts are made.
Please return your block to The Pumpkin Patch before the 4th of July.

This year's quilts will be used toward international or local disaster relief.
