The John Crawford Quilt Challenge
Each year for the last three years, we at The Pumpkin Patch in Lee have made a quilt for a community service organazation whose work we value. A challenge is offered to the community: make a block for this year's Crawford Quilt. Those who are interested purchase a small packet of fabric to be included in their block and are given a set of "this year's challenge" directions. Finished quilt blocks are returned to the store, where they are put on display until the quilt is made. The quilt itself is then constructed and completed at The Pumpkin Patch in time to be shown at the quilt show sponsored by The Friends of BCC at the college in October. After the show, it is given to the organazation. In the past we have made quilts for Construct, The Linus Project, Elizabeth Freeman Center, Berkshire Humane Society, and AdLib Center.
